Dr. Colette Amit is the Executive Director of PhysicalOne, a cutting-edge outpatient physical therapy practice with locations in Plantation and Tamarac, FL. Originally from Israel, Colette relocated to South Florida in 1990. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Tel-Aviv University and later completed her master’s in health services administration at Barry University in Miami. In 2019, Colette furthered her passion for physical therapy by earning her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Evidence in Motion (EIM).
With a rich background in various clinical settings—including acute care and rehabilitation hospitals, nursing homes, home health, and outpatient clinics—Colette brings a wealth of experience to her practice. Prior to founding PhysicalOne in 2005, she was also a tenured faculty member at Miami-Dade College’s Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
Colette is a dedicated advocate for the physical therapy profession, serving as a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) for over 30 years and as a delegate of the Southeastern District of the Florida Physical Therapy Association (FPTA). She developed the House of Health™ framework for recovery, which is centered on four pillars of health. Her recently published book, “Feeling Good Again: How to Build Your House of Health” presents holistic, evidence-based strategies to help individuals restore optimal function, manage pain, and feel empowered in their recovery journey.
An active member of several local business organizations, including the Sunrise, Plantation, and Tamarac Chambers of Commerce, and the American Association of Business Networking, Colette frequently shares her knowledge through speaking engagements both locally and nationally. She is committed to using her expertise to benefit the community and spread her innovative approach to self-help in physical therapy.
In her personal life, Colette resides in Plantation, FL with her family. She enjoys dancing, reading, camping, and cooking for her family and team. She is also an avid long-distance runner, regularly participating in half-marathons.
